I join the Global League of Community Sustainers (“La Liga Global”), a transnational network of migrants, remitters, their organizations and their allies, committed to using our collective voice and our economic power to build a better world for all where migration is a choice and not a necessity for economic survival.

I pledge:

• To work with others for economic justice by supporting and promoting initiatives that address the root causes of displacement, and by changing the historic equation that has forced millions to be displaced from their families.
• To support, to promote and to actively participate in locally-based solutions that create community-led economic development in communities that have borne the brunt of displacement around the world.
• To hold accountable the corporations and governments that profit from the love for our families when we send money or receive it, when we communicate, or when we send goods and services that sustain our families around the globe.
• To use my consumer power wisely and to purchase services from companies that uphold La Liga Global’s standards of fair business practices and transparency.

I recognize that migrants and their families are sustainers of the global economy and in coming together as La Liga Global we can promote transnational humanity instead of corporate-driven globalization from above.
