Activities
As outlined in the La Liga Global Membership Pledge, members of our network commit:
- To work with others for economic justice by supporting and promoting initiatives that address the root causes of displacement, and by changing the historic equation that has forced millions to be displaced from their families.
- To support, to promote and to actively participate in locally-based solutions that create community-led economic development in communities that have borne the brunt of displacement around the world.
- To hold accountable the corporations and governments that profit from the love for our families when we send money or receive it, when we communicate, or when we send goods and services that sustain our families around the globe.
- To use our consumer power wisely and to purchase services from companies that uphold La Liga Global’s standards of fair business practices and transparency.
We expect members to undertake the activities of La Liga Global:
As an individual
- Use and promotion of accredited money transfer services
- Participation in transnational financial education trainings
- Carry out campaigns and strategies to create economic democracy and social responsibility in the private and governmental sectors
As an organization
- Recruitment of community members to use accredited money transfer services
- Carry out campaigns and strategies to create economic democracy and social responsibility in the private and governmental sectors
- Leadership in the formation of La Liga Global at the local, national, regional, and global levels
Regional Committees
- Responsible for the formation of La Liga Global at the regional level
- Leadership in the formation of La Liga Global at the global level
- Conduct needs and opportunities assessment at the regional level
- Development of campaigns and strategies to build economic democracy and corporate social responsibility
Benefits
Members receive benefits and actively participate in La Liga Global’s collective efforts. These are generally described here but are also defined independently by each region around the world.

Allies
Allies can be individual or organizational members of La Liga Global. Allies may not themselves be migrants, remitters, or migrant family members, but represent an individual or an organization that has committed to upholding the principles outlined above and in the La Liga Global membership pledge.
