La Liga Global migrant members and families building economic power around the world

WARBE 12.09 march

During a week of coordinated activities between December 10th and 18th, 2009, members of La Liga Global shared with their local communities around the world their vision for building economic power for sustainability and change based on the love and support they share across borders everyday.  The UN commemorations of migrants and human rights on those two dates highlighted migrants’ role as agents of change in the global economy.

The formula is not easy or straightforward; La Liga Global members are working on different strategies in a coordinated effort to promote a more fair and equitable global economy that can sustain our transnational families.

In 18 events in 16 cities and 5 countries, over 3500 people learned the stories of La Liga Global members. Thousands more were reached through radio and television interviews, blogs, and journal articles.
